The Tech Challenge
Yearlong engineering program students remember forever
This signature program of The Tech is an annual design challenge for teams of students in Grades 4–12 to use the engineering design process to solve a real-world problem.

Over several months, participants collaborate, learn from failure and improve their ideas while documenting their progress in an engineering journal. The program culminates in a two-day final showcase where teams put their solutions to the test in front of their peers and judges. For more than 30 years, The Tech Challenge has encouraged girls and boys from all backgrounds to see themselves as engineers. Contributions to this program pay for materials, staffing and dozens of events throughout the year.
